  • Reddit's housekeeping update - New Rule: No AI generated answers due to the fact that AI can make things up when it doesn't understand something or gets bad/conflicting information.

    • TL;DR - When the "front page of the internet" Reddit cracks down, expect more across the interview and apps with rules like this. The user's ability to EDIT and ADJUST from an AI generated starting point is quickly becoming the skill and a competitive advantage.

    • Bonus TL;DR: "Prompt engineers" will be hot for the next 1-2 years, but tools like MidJourney are already telling us what the best prompts are. So the toolset of editing continues to be pushing to the forefront of value.

  • Salesforce is working on a pair of new generative AI-driven workflow tools. These include the Data Cloud, a data warehouse tool formerly known as Genie, Einstein GPT, a generative AI tool, and Flow, an AI workflow tool.

    • TL;DR - Big tech companies are looking to monopolize the AI solutions market, which means they’re creating their own versions of every new AI tool that comes out. If you're hoping to build something to be acquired, take note of the current wave (AutoGPT bots) and the strength of your network. If you can get the attention of a Microsoft or Salesforce, you have a good chance of a fast acquisition if you build fast and position correctly.

  • Data, the AI commodity: Elon Musk threatens to sue Microsoft over using Twitter data for its AI. And Reddit Wants to Get Paid for Helping to Teach Big AI Systems.

    • TL;DR - Data is the new gold and one of the main focuses of your business should be not only protect it, but also find how to monetize it. Lightbulb moment: Your client data is worth a lot. The better you are at capturing, protecting, and maturing your company's approach with data, the more insights you'll have when we get tools to unleash AI on your own data. You’ll be able to provide insights on things like who your target client is, what makes them happier, how you can sell for more and better, how you can keep them, and how you can find more of them! Make sure you have strong security measures in place, use others data carefully, and develop paid services using your data.

  • Google's DeepMind And Brain Teams Join Forces To Create An AI Powerhouse.  

    • TL;DR - Google's domination via search and expansion into buying up anyone interesting is not keeping Alphabet/Google ahead of the curve with respect to (WRT) AI. Now they're fighting and pivoting with hopes of being in front of the next AI wave. But, if your business is on the Google suite and waiting for them to deliver the next best thing - the wait may be longer than you want, and your competitors will move faster by adopting one-off tools to address their individual needs.

  • 35% are concerned about data privacy and security matters and 25% about ethical considerations.

What do we think? While it's understandable to have these concerns, avoiding the topics or halting development altogether isn't the solution. Instead, we must take a proactive approach and address these matters head-on. Waiting for governments to rule on these issues isn't enough; as individuals directly involved and affected by the evolution of AI, we have a responsibility to prevent risks and keep our systems ethical. By doing so, we can harness the full potential of AI without compromising our values or putting ourselves and our customers at risk. At the same time, it's important to acknowledge that there will be challenges along the way, but we must remain committed to finding solutions that work for everyone involved.

Data dignity is the idea that people should have control over their personal information, including how it's used, and that they should be compensated for the value they create, even when their data is filtered and recombined into something unrecognizable
